December 8, 2012

While contemplating some of the challenges that Sister McKee has gone through over the past couple of weeks, I've been thinking about 2 Nephi 2:11 "For it must needs be, that there is an opposition in all things." If there is never any difficulties, we would never enjoy the good times.
Sister McKee continues to fight this battle. Her fever has moved to low grade. She continues on the ventilator and feeding tube. They are adjusting the drainage tube from the brain with hope of removing it soon as swelling in the brain has leveled off. She continues to respond with small finger, toe, and eye movements. We continue to be ever so grateful for any tiny movement that she makes. The missionaries gathered together today to be taught and trained by Elder Russell M. Nelson. It was a wonderful blessing for the Tennessee, Nashville Mission to be taught by a living apostle. They all agreed though that the conference was missing their "mission mamma". We all continually thank you for your faith and prayers and the many kind cards that you have sent and express to you our love for the Savior. He continually does so much to ease all burdens through the atonement. We continue to serve him faithfully.
"I say unto you that if ye should serve him who has created you from the beginning, and is preserving you from day to day, by lending you breath, that ye may live and move and do according to your own will, and even supporting you from one moment to another—I say, if ye should serve him with all your whole souls yet ye would be unprofitable servants. (Book of Mormon, Mosiah 2:21."
