I'm Home!!!!!

Dear Family and Friends,

Hooray! i'm home from the hospital and am so excited to be here!  i'm not healed all of the way yet, but I can certainly recognize the hand of the Lord in my progress.  I still have to go back to Physical Therapy for 3 x a week until I get it all together.   My eyes are doing better and I can almost walk by myself all the way through our house with my walker without ending up in a heap in some corner.  I'm so grateful for my family who watches out for me.  Jared and Brittany were here for a couple of weeks and Mike has been here for the past couple of weeks.  They have both been so awesome in supporting me.  Also, did I mention I have the greatest husband in the world?

Thank you for all the warm and loving letters we have received from you all.  You certainly know how to give encouragement and love!  !!! Today the family is heading to church, I wish I were going too, but hopefully by next week I will be able to go for the full time.

We certainly love you'all and miss you a ton.  And we are  certainly grateful for your  love and support
Please keep praying for me and I will continue to pray for each of you!   Last week we received  22 more missionaries and next transfer we are getting 25. This mission is growing and the work is continuing on just as it should be, Pray to have our own missionary experiences---it will change you life!!!  This is my first post in 78 days.  It's good to be home!!!!

  1. OH HAPPIEST OF DAYS!!!!!

Our prayers have been answered, our hearts are overflowing with joy and our eyes are filled with tears!

Sister McKee, we have prayed and prayed and prayed for you since December 12th when our daughter opened her call to the TNM and then we found the blog and learned the heartbreaking news of your condition. We've been reading every day since then and following along with your progress. We've fallen in love with you and President and your family and the mission and we sort of feel like you are our own extended family now.

OK, we have to admit we've had a bit of a selfish "extra request" tacked on to all of our prayers these past weeks that you would be out of the hospital by the time Sister A arrives to the mission this month. :-)

    Request Granted = Happy Dance!

Now, don't worry, we certainly will not stop praying for you & President and your children / family and the entire mission. This is just a new beginning. But, oh how thrilled we are that you are GRADUATED from hospital and moving on to your next big step!!

    Sending love and hugs,
    The Abel Family

  2. Oh, RaNae, there truly is "No place like home". Many thousands of prayers have been answered to get you home:) Your beautiful smile is a testament of the great love Heavenly Father has for you. Once again you are an example to me of purity, and endurance. May I share something with you that President Finn counselled me with when John passed away. He told my not to ask Heavenly Father why, but to ask Him to see the path He has laid before me. To be honest, RaNae, I have not seen that path, BUT, every time I lay a foot down, a brick is laid. I take another step and another brick is laid. You see, He is creating the path brick my brick from my faith and the prayers of others. Your path is being built brick by brick from the love, prayers, tender mercies and miracles that are just for you. Your path is glorious and filled with diamonds of trust and love. I pray that I may add a brick to your path with my love for you and the prayers I offer for your healing. I love you and send you soft warm hugs.

  5. Thank you for your willingness to share your experiences with us. It has been inspiring to hear of your daily trials and miracles. The missionary work you have been able to do while in the hospital is amazing. We love the stories of those who have been touched by your life. You have been through so much and have such a wonderful attitude and a desire to work hard to get better. We know that having such a strong and loving spouse and family has made your trial a bit easier and your determination greater. May the Lord continue to bless you as you continue to recover. Our prayers are with you!

  6. Sister McKee,
My name is Martha Garvin; my Collier cousins know you from Pocatello. I have been following your progress and just wanted to say "Congratulations!" on coming home. I've had my own family homecomings similar to yours; I know this is a wonderful day for you and your family.

I will keep praying for you over the next months as you continue your recovery. I am amazed to see how well you are doing now, and although there is still work to be done I am sure it is wonderful for you and your family to think of the progress you have made.

You and your family have touched our hearts. I have felt the Spirit as I have read your husband's posts about how he has cared for the missionaries during the day and cared for you during the night. I know the Lord has strengthened him during this time.

I am sure you both know, but your missionary work continued during your hospital stay. Our Stake President (Wally Booth here in Asheville, NC) told us of one of these success stories: One of the families in our stake has a child that was one of your first nurses. That nurse has decided to come back to church because of the experiences they had caring for you and being with your family. The Lord works in mysterious ways.

Congratulations, we love you, and Welcome Home!
    Martha

  11. RaNae,
I am so thrilled to read your message, and so grateful to our father In Heaven for you, Bill, and your family, and the faith which has come through in each update. I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Since the death of Randy, I have felt the love from your family for my family (even before Randy's death), and know that there is a plan for all of us. Please let the family know that my testimony has been strengthened by each and every update and miracle which has occurred throughout your ordeal. I love all of you, and this note includes warm and gentle hugs.
Love you my sweet friend and birthday partner.

  15. Sister Mckee:
You are home! What a blessing and answer to so many prayers. I kept thinking over the past 78 days that you're just like George Bailey, with so many people praying for you, good things HAD to happen. And your "Clarence" (guardian angel) was certainly your sweet husband! We love you, and can't wait to see you and (gently) hug you!
